At Dirtbags Lawn Care we believe proper lawn care starts with a bag of dirt. Our 5 visit lawn care program will start with a soil test to identify the unique needs of your lawn. We will then build a custom fertilization plan to provide your soil with precisely the nutrients it needs to grow a beautiful lawn.
CORE AERATION
We recommend aerating your lawn at least once per year, preferrably in the Spring or Fall.
Core aeration is essential to relieve soil compaction, allowing oxygen, water, and nutrients to reach grass roots effectively. By removing soil plugs, it breaks down thatch, encourages deeper root growth, and creates a healthier, more drought-resistant, and vibrant lawn. It is best for fixing compacted, high-traffic, or thin lawns.
SLIT SEEDING
Slit seeding is the most effective method to repair thin, patchy lawns.
By using a machine to cut vertical grooves directly into the soil and deposit seed. It provides superior seed-to-soil contact, prevents seed from washing away, reduces thatch, and results in a thicker, healthier lawn with superior germination rates to overseeding.
Best done in Spring/Fall when the temperature outside is ideally suited for new grass growth.
